This collection of five songs by Rachmaninoff make an excellent addition to the recital repertoire for the bass clarinetist. The songs are technically quite accessible for the bass clarinetist, and do not require an extended range instrument. Rachmaninoff often composed songs to be sung by either male or female voice, and these options are noted in the score to allow the bass clarinetist to explore the music in both a lower and higher register. Original keys maintained throughout.
